Pillars of Youth Policy in the Republic of Armenia

The following concept determines the main regulations and directions on the base of which the youth policy of the Republic of Armenia is elaborated and accomplished.

The main beneficiaries of the state youth policy are:
  1. The 16-30 years old citizens of the Republic of Armenia
  2. The 16-30 years old non-citizens of Armenia as long as their presence in Armenia requires the responsibility of relevant governmental structures.
  3. All non-governmental organizations (NGO) of Armenia if their members are not over 30 years old or who are working with citizens who aren't over 30 years old.
  4. The young couples only if one of the spouses isn't over 30 years old.

The principals of the governmental policy:

The youth policy of the Republic of Armenia is based on the following principle:
  • The direct involvement of young citizens in the shaping and implementation of the policy concern both the youth and the society in general.

The Purpose and the Directions of the Youth Governmental Policy

The main purpose of the state youth policy is the involvement of young people in the social life, creation of social, economic, cultural, spiritual and organizing conditions in order to ensure and use fully the young peoples' creativity to the benefit of Armenian society.

In order to achieve the proposed goals the governmental policy intends to proceed through the following basic directions:
  1. Creation of legal field, which would provide the work of youth.
  2. Provision of insurance in the sphere of the youth employment and work and accomplishment of the policy of the youth state staff.
  3. Assistance to youth entrepreneurs.
  4. Governmental support to the young families.
  5. Ensured provision of social services.
  6. Assistance to young talents.
  7. The shaping of the conditions towards the breeding of spiritual and physical development of the youth.
  8. Assistance to the efforts of the youth organizations.
  9. Promotion of youth international cooperation.

Actions necessary for implementation of the state youth policy

  1. Creation of legal framework for effective accomplishment of the state youth policy.
  2. Shaping and implementation of complex and deliberate state youth programs and inclusion of youth problems in the state programs concerning to the environmental, social, cultural and economic development on the national and regional levels.
  3. Creation of infrastructure in order to accomplish effectively the state policy (youth centers, republican and regional analytic/informative centers, youth basic capital etc).
